3.80 M33 OUT NOW!

About the firmware:
This is the latest firmware by Dark_Alex release about 4 days ago.As compared to 3.71 M33, this new firmware fixes some of the problems that was present when using 3.71, like not able to play some of the homebrewed games. However in order to use this update, your PSP version must be 3.53 M33-3(fat/slim) or above to use this update.

If not, you need to upgrade your PSP firmware of at least 3.53 M33-3 first. Just follow the steps closely and at your own risk.

Update includes:

  • HEN core: user mode can load now signchecked files from flash.

  • recovery: flash1 format will create flash1 directories after format.

  • This could fix some flash1 issues with the previous versions.

  • Network update from dark-alex.org page. By default is enabled. You can turn it off in recovery (when off, network update will download sony updates as usual).
  • Nids resolver for various kernel libraries.

Get the software at:
http://www.dark-alex.org/ ( 3.80 M33 with updates)
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1377 (3.80 Sony Update file)

Tutorial (DIY):
*Make sure your battery life is more than 75% before flashing your psp*

  1. Connect the PSP using the usb wire to the computer

  2. Copy the UPDATE folder from 3.80 M33 and transfer into your psp memory stick(MS) folder MS:/PSP/GAME/

  3. Get the 3.80 sony update from from the link above and put it in the same folder, rename it to "380.PBP"

  4. Disconnect from the computer

  5. Run it from your psp, the update will be done by Sony updater. At the end when you are asked to reboot the PSP pressing X or O, do it.

If it does not even start running,it might be due to the fact that you are not in 1.50kernel version. If you don't have any clue about what is 1.50kernel, carry out the steps below to check.

Changing Kernel mode:

  1. Shut down ur psp completely and not on standby mode.

  2. Turn it on while holding on to the R button

  3. You should be able to see the recovery menu

  4. Next go into configuration and make sure that you see( Game folder homebrew - Kernel for games -1.50 kernel)
  5. Save and exit

If you still cannot manage, drop me an email or leave a comment below :)
